In the second year of activity, ECOTIC BAT reached the proposed target of collection, recording a volume of 61 tons of waste batteries and accumulators. This amount means to achieve a 25% collection rate, corresponding to the European Directive on DBA. This result is primarily due to ECOTIC BAT infrastructure development in 2014 which comprises a number of 3,174 collection points. This was an increase of 184% compared to 2013, when ECOTIC BAT system included 1,700 collection points.
Regarding the collection of waste batteries and accumulators, we see an upward trend and an improvement of population behavior towards this category of waste. This increase is due to the location of recipients in retail stores, in which the flow of people is high. The vast majority of recipients collection system ECOTIC BAT for the general public, are located in chain stores: Mega Image, Shop & Go, AB Cool Food, Altex, Media Galaxy, Penny Market XXL, La Doi Pasi, METRO Cash & Carry, Brico Depot and Petrom and Lukoil gas stations.
