The Recycling Station, ECOTIC’s itinerary campaign dedicated to the collection of WEEE in the rural areas, continues in 2018. After going through 7 counties, informing approximately 200,000 persons and collecting 100 tons of WEEE (waste of electrical and electronic equipment) in 2017, beginning with March 15th 2018, the campaign has started in Hunedoara county.

As known, Romania has the obligation to reach a national WEEE (waste of electrical and electronic equipment) collection target of 45%. In this context, ECOTIC continues its efforts to raise population awareness on the need to hand over WEEE at the specialized collection pints.

The Recycling Station is ECOTIC's campaign that focuses on this objective in the rural areas. Alongside local public and environmental authorities, ECOTIC informs the citizens in 15 localities in each visited county on the need to collect WEEE and offers a mobile collection point - the ECOTIC Caravan - where the waste can be brought and handed over for recycling.

In 2018, the campaign continues in Hunedoara county, with the support of the Ministry of the Environment, Hunedoara County Council and ADI Hunedoara.

To encourage the public to correctly hand over electrical and electronic waste for recycling, each person who hands over a minimum of 5kg of waste will receive an instant prize and will take part in a raffle with attractive prizes.

The home collection service of large equipment (TV sets, refrigerators, washing machines) is free.

By the end of the Hunedoara campaign, the ECOTIC Caravan will take the Recycling station in 15 localities of the county.
