EERA Regional Legislative Seminar in Bucharest

On 27.06.2013 at Novotel Hotel Bucharest, EERA (European Electronic Recyclers Association) organized a seminar dedicated for the implementation of the new European WEEE Directive (2012/19 / EU) a seminar attended by the representatives of the government of Romania: Elena Dumitru - Secretary of State, Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change, Nicoleta Chiriac - Consultant, Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change, Ionut Muşetoiu - Consultant, Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change, collective schemes and operators of WEEE from Romania and guests from the WEEE field from the neighboring countries Bulgaria, Greece and Hungary.

The seminar, chaired by Manfred Fahrner - President of EERA, encouraged the debate between the parties on regional issues relating to the management of WEEE.

During the meeting, Dragos Calugaru - ECOTIC Managing Director gave a presentation that highlighted the current problems of Romania and directions that should be followed. The presentation is available here.

Recall that the new Directive on WEEE must be implemented in national legislation by February, 2014.
