After spending time in the rural areas of Iasi County, the Recycling Station - a national WEEE collection campaign developed by ECOTIC - hit the road in Brasov, with the support of the Brasov Prefecture, Brasov Environmental Protection Agency and DEDEMAN.

Started in June 2016, the campaign set out to take the message of WEEE collection and recycling necessity in rural areas, offering information that rarely reaches people in the villages of Romania. People found out what WEEE means, why this type of waste is dangerous and why it should be recycled.

With the fall, the Recycling Station made its way through the first five villages in Brasov County. Moieciu (19-21 September), Bran (22-24 September), Zarnesti (25-27 September), Vulcan (28-30 September) and Cristian (1-3 October), were the first villages that collected 4 tons of WEEE .

By the end of November, the ECOTIC Caravan will have visited 10 rural localities in Brasov County. Citizens will be informed and encouraged to hand over WEEE, thus registering for a raffle with attractive prizes.
