A total of 12 representatives of environmental authorities from Serbia were on a study visit for a week in Romania on WEEE issue, guided by representatives of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests, visited ECOTIC Monday, 11/14/2016.

The visit is part of a project funded with EU funds - http://hazardouswaste-serbia.info/ms/hazardouswaste-serbia/hw_en/hw_en/

The delegation also visited the operators of WEEE treatment and integrated waste management system in Arges county.

In the 2 hours of interaction at ECOTIC headquarters, Valentin Negoita - President ECOTIC and Dragos Calugaru - GM presented the WEEE status in Romania, the role of collective schemes and authorities and answered many questions.

Unlike Romania, in Serbia there is a fee that is paid directly to the state for equipment put on the market and a small part of this contribution reaches some WEEE treatment units.

We were glad to be of service to our friends from Serbia who are just starting out. Especially because, in similar way authorities from Romania and industry representatives, including Valentin Negoita as President APDETIC, participated in 12 years ago to study visits in European countries and helped in drafting the legislative framework and its implementation.
