Now in its eighth year, The Clean Environment Awards Gala is a traditional annual competition organized by ECOTIC and dedicated to initiatives for environmental protection and resource conservation. 98 projects were registered for this year's competition, the highest number in the Gala's history.

Started in 2009, the competition aims to bring in front of the general public various initiatives meant to showcase eco-social responsibility in Romania. A record number of projects were registered on www.premiilepentrumediucurat.ro, 98 projects from all over the country being entered in all four categories: Companies, Educational Institutions, Public Institutions and NGOs.

“We are happy to see that the number of projects dedicated to the environment is going up by the year. This shows that Romanians are increasingly concerned about a clean environment and resource economy, ”said Valentin Negoita, President of ECOTIC.

The competition was open for projects dedicated to environmental protection, resource conservation and waste prevention that have unfolded starting October 2015.
