You can't get very far if you don't have a clear vision of where you are going. It is a principle that is also valid for the WEEE collection and recycling industry in Romania. A few years ago, ECOTIC started a unique project in Central and Eastern Europe: the alignment of operation standards for Romanian companies that handle WEEE with the WEEELABEX European Standards. The end of 2015 saw the first achievements.
At the beginning of February, Dragos Calugaru was invited by Ecologic Magazine to share his and ECOTIC's thoughts on the granting of WEEELABEX certifications, for the first time in Romania and in Central and Eastern Europe, to two Romanian companies that manage and treat WEEE: Remat Holding and Green WEEE International. These certifications are the result of constant and hard work that span many years, and are an essential step in ensuring industry standards that mean more safety, more efficiency in retrieving fractions, more transparency in following flows and, eventually, a market that can really work. for the benefit of Romanian communities.
