On 05 November 2013 WEEELABEX representatives announced that the first group WEEELABEX standard auditors were instructed to perform compliance checks for refrigeration treatment, at WEEE treatment operators according to general and specific requirements contained in the Standard.
WEEE treatment operators may request an audit by sending statement of intent at the WEEELABEX headquarters.
Qualified auditors, listed on the WEEELABEX website, are empowered to conduct audits for the following treatment processes: large household appliances and small equipment with cathode ray tubes to flat screens and equipment with heat transfers.

WEEELABEX is an acronym derived from the phrase “WEEE label of excellence”, giving the name of the project co-funded by the Life Environment Program of the European Community (LIFE07 ENV / B / 000041), with a budget of 1,064,600 €.
WEEELABEX is a project led by the WEEE Forum in cooperation with stakeholders in the community and industry manufacturers (Digital Europe CECED, EERA, ELC). This project was founded in 2009 and the WEEELABEX organization was created on April 17, 2013 in Prague, and it is considered to be the peak of the project.
