The COVID-19 pandemic has changed many aspects, both personal and business, from environmental protection behaviors to the involvement of companies in the fight against COVID-19.

A study conducted by EY shows us how the behavior of Romanians has changed during this period, many Romanians choose rather quality products and the requirements regarding the social behavior of companies have increased. .

Romanians tend to pay more attention to the behavior of companies in the crisis caused by COVID-19 and pay more attention to their social responsibility policies.

“In the last five months of 2020, several behaviors associated with the pandemic context could be observed among Romanian companies: stopping or, on the contrary, increasing commercial communication, increased involvement in the community or increased attention for employees. Many of the Romanian companies have developed strategies and capabilities to manage the crisis and to continue their activity during a pandemic.

Romanian consumers have begun to pay more and more attention to the social responsibility of companies. The study states that, for now, it is still uncertain to what extent a business strategy that integrates sustainability and social responsibility can directly increase a company's reputation and, indirectly, migrate consumers to the products and services of responsible companies, but certainly , these issues appear in the preferences of consumers, as the study demonstrates. "

Such behavior shows maturity in the economic sphere having effects in terms of environmental protection. Thus, Romanians tend to consume from sustainable and socially responsible companies, thus bringing a great advantage for the environment and society.

The EY study also shows that "Almost 85% of Romanian consumers say that the way companies behave is as important to them as the products / services they provide, 80% claiming that the business environment has a responsibility to make changes in the world. In the context of COVID-19, 59% of study participants say they can see the positive impact of companies in society.

Romanians' trust in socially responsible companies is growing, and this can place the big players in the market in the top of the companies with the highest degree of sales, because they also have the power to give back to society what it needs.
