The results of the campaign "Change wastes with Samsung technology" 3rd edition

The third edition of the "Change wastes Samsung technology" was held simultaneously in Bucharest District 2, and in Cluj-Napoca, having the same principles as of the previous editions.The project was developed between 20 March and 20 April in Bucharest and in Cluj-Napoca, between 20 March and 17 April.

Throughout the campaign, citizens were informed about the benefits of collection and recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment, and were invited to return WEEE responsibly at specially designated points of ECOTIC and partners.

During the campaign five mobile collection points were available both in the District 2 of Bucharest, and in Cluj-Napoca.

These were located in Bucharest, as follows:

  • Labor passage- March 20 to 24
  • Dolphin Square area - March 25 to 30
  • Obor - March 31 to April 5
  • Colentina Road - April 6 to 11
  • Stefan cel Mare - April 12 to 20

In Cluj-Napoca, mobile collection points were located in:

  • Agarbiceanu market - March 20 to 24;
  • Factory Street - March 25 to 30;
  • Dawn market- March 31 to April 5
  • Islazului Street - April 6 to 11
  • Miraslau Street - April 12 to 17

For each handed WEEE participants were awarded with 2 vouchers: one for a 35% discount on selected Samsung products and the second to participate in the raffle held at the end of the campaign, in both cities.

During the press conference held on April 20 in Cluj-Napoca, which took place at Casino Center of Urban Culture the winners were raffled. Prizes were provided by Samsung Romania and consisted of five vacuums, 2 Blu Ray, 3 Home Cinema and 2 TV LED 32 '.

 In Cluj-Napoca, 423 persons handed over 644 used electrical and electronic equipment.

For the District 2 of Bucharest the press conference in which the winners were raffled took place on April 24. Prizes at stake were: 5 vacuums, 3 Blu Ray, 2 Home Cinema, a dishwasher and an LED TV 32 „

In District 2, about 4.5 tons of WEEE were collected from 493 people.

In the 2nd District of Bucharest, the project partners were SUPERCOM SA and the District 2 City Hall and in Cluj-Napoca, the project was supported by the Municipality, Rosal Group - Cluj Napoca branch and Sanitation Company Brantner Veres SA.
