Being at the end of the ninth year of activity, we can declare that ECOTIC has become a mature organization with a significant impact in the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment and waste batteries and accumulators in Romania.
I managed over 11.000 tons of WEEE and fish 60 tons of DBA, keeping on both flows an increasing trend and achieving the highest collection rates in the market.
Collection infrastructure WEEE si WBA got married there 550 collection points for electronics and 3.180 for batteries. new collection containers ECOTIC and ECOTIC BAT are available in the Altex and Media Galaxy, Metro, Penny, XXL, Mega Image stores, in the La Doi Pasi network, as well as in the ASE and UPB university centers.
ECOTIC continued the process of implementing the standards WEEELABEX, through complex evaluations of the operations of the treatment partners, the realization of some reference lots and the systematization of the waste flows.

This year, ECOTIC has made a big deal market research called "Attitudes and habits regarding waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE)", one of the conclusions of this study indicating that in urban households are found about 7.1 kg of WEEE / inhabitant. Another WEEE study made by ECOTIC highlighted that most of the WEEE from rural areas are historical waste.
In November, ECOTIC launched the project "ECOTIC Caravan ”, a large awareness project, co-financed by the European Commission through the Life + program. The central element of the Caravan is a mobile exhibition in which are presented ten types of waste electrical and electronic equipment disassembled, highlighting for educational purposes their components. The caravan will reach 150 schools and 30 public squares by mid-2016.
The project includes the actions "Recycling Days in your city", In 2014 events were organized in Bucharest, Slatina and Giurgiu,"ECO days in your school”, The caravan being hosted by 21 educational institutions, 9.192 students better understanding the reasons why it is good to recycle WEEE and DBA correctly, as well as local seminars together with institutions involved in WEEE management.
A remarkable event was the sixth edition of "Awards Gala for a clean environment 2014”Where projects with a special impact in environmental protection and sustainable development were awarded.
Other population collection and awareness projects carried out in 2014 by ECOTIC and ECOTIC BAT were the following:

ECOTIC hosted WEEE Forum General Assembly in Bucharest, where a new President was elected, who will represent the collective organizations at European level.
ECOTIC was also involved in the legislative debates related to the field of waste management, participating in public debate on the implementation of the new WEEE directive, as well as through opinions and points of view submitted to the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change. ECOTIC joined the group "Romania Horizon 2020 Initiative”, A group in which the market actors debate methods to improve the legislative framework.
I thus participated in the debate on the new law on sanitation, as well as other events together with the Minister of Environment.
