ECOTIC, Alucro, the National Association for Consumer Protection and Promotion of Programs and Strategies in Romania and Hotnews.ro, under the auspices of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, is holding the fifth edition of the Awards Gala for a Clean Environment!
The Clean Environment Awards Gala is a form of recognition and promotion of environmental protection campaigns. Thus, the organizers award each year the best projects and examples of good practices designed to improve environmental conditions in local communities, as well as social responsibility programs developed by companies, public institutions and non-governmental organizations.
Starting with 2009, the Clean Environment Awards Gala brought together laureates from both business - Rompetrol, Vodafone Romania, Siemens Romania - from educational institutions, military units, but also environmental NGOs, such as Let's Do It, Romania. Any legal entity in Romania has the possibility to be part of the winners of the Gala, the condition being that the project carried out should aim at environmental protection.
This year's edition takes place on the online platform dedicated to the Clean Environment Awards Gala, hosted here. The projects were registered following the transmission on dedicated email addresses of the form available here and on www.alucro.ro. The form included the description of the project dedicated to environmental protection or accountability, but also contact details of the organizers of the project proposed for registration in the Awards Gala for a Clean Environment. Registrations were made between October 21 and December 05, 2013.
The organizers want this year to highlight new initiatives, projects and relevant experiences in the field of environmental protection. The popularization of these practices brings closer to each of us the contribution of those actively involved in consolidating a responsible attitude towards the values of the environment in which we live, these being examples to follow in the future.
The calendar of the Gala is as follows: 
- Entries in the contest will be made until December 5, 2013;
- The judging of the registered projects will take place between December 6 and 9, 2012, and the winners of the Clean Environment Awards Gala will be announced on December 10.
- On December 12, 2013, the awards ceremony will take place during a festive gala.

Past editions of the Gala have meant:
In 2009, the first edition of this project took place, the winners being the "Cezar Nicolau" Agricultural School Group from Branesti with the "Nature Vie" program, Romtelecom SA with the "Adopta un rau" program and Realitatea Media SA, which developed the "Romania takes root" program ".
In 2010, 65 projects were registered, the winners being the VerdeCrud Media Production House, for the project "Eco Revolution", dedicated to students in Bucharest schools, in order to change the attitude towards the environment and to make participants responsible for protection the Association of Center of Excellence for Sustainable Development, for the project "Waste Museum" and the Agricultural College "Dimitrie Petrescu" from Caracal, for the project to promote environmental protection "Save nature!"
In 2011, the winners were School No. 109 - Serban Voda from Bucharest who developed the project “Schools for a green future”, Let's Do It organization, Romania! for the national cleaning project, Campulung Eco Technical College for the project “Nature resembles us, education differentiates us”, N. Balcescu School Group from Flamanzi, Botosani, for the project “A green drop for the blue planet”, School Nr. 12 Herastrau who developed the project "Pollution - a problem at any age". Mentions also received the projects: “Kids School” developed by Panasonic Romania, “IBM go green” - Valea Argovei, “Volunteering is gaining ground!” - made by the Technical College of Car Transports from Dr. Tr. Severin, Mehedinti County, "Keep Iasi clean!" - made by Touch, “World Cleaning Day” - School from Hantesti Commune, Suceava County, “Internships - investment for the future” - Technical College Nr. 2, Targu Jiu, Gorj county.
In 2012, Galai, the Grand Prize was won by Rompetrol for environmental protection initiatives carried out in the "Together for Everyone" project. The Excellence Award was given to Vodafone Romania for the environmental protection initiatives carried out in the "Electronic Invoice" project, the Eco Award was awarded to the "DP Martian" Economic College from Alba Iulia for the environmental protection initiatives carried out in the "PRONATURA 2012" project. Special prizes were won by the "Sfanta Maria" Special High School for the hearing impaired for environmental protection initiatives carried out in the "Green Space-Guarantee of Life" project and SIEMENS ROMANIA for environmental protection initiatives carried out in the "VICTORIA 20.20" project
