ECOTIC and Workshops Without Borders launches a new edition of the national campaignle "Enter the circle of solidarity!", a national program for the collection and preparation for reuse of IT equipment intended for schools that need support in digital equipment.

Donate IT equipment and support digital education!

Public and private entities in Romania are invited to submit used laptops, monitors, central processing units and notebooks which can be refurbished and donated to schools enrolled in the program "School of Ecoterrians".

The campaign runs between May 15 - October 31, 2025, and the equipment is handed over by completing

Registration form “Enter the circle of solidarity – ECOTIC”

How the campaign works:

  • May 15 – October 1: public and private entities register and request the takeover of IT equipment.
  • May 15 – October 1: equipment is collected by authorized operators, thus companies receive the necessary documentation to remove the equipment from management.
  • May 15 – October 10: the equipment is refurbished by the Workshops Without Borders Association. Strict standards are also followed for deleting data from refurbished IT equipment, to ensure confidentiality and information security, using specialized software.
  • 14 – 31 October: equipment prepared for reuse is donated to the beneficiary schools enrolled in the project.

Equipment handed over but which can no longer be reconditioned will enter the recycling stream.

Who can participate?

Anyone can participate public or private entity with headquarters or work points in Romania, which owns IT equipment and wants to contribute to supporting digital education by reusing it. By handing over this equipment, companies have a positive impact on the environment, as well as a social one:

  • Extending the lifespan of IT equipment: Reuse is one of the most effective forms of circular economy. Every refurbished laptop or monitor means a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions and the consumption of resources required to produce a new one.
  • Reducing electronic waste: The campaign directly contributes to preventing the generation of WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment), one of the fastest growing sources of waste globally.
  • Responsible disposal of non-functional equipment: Devices that can no longer be reused are recycled by authorized operators, contributing to the recovery of raw materials.
  • Supporting education in communities: Refurbished IT equipment is donated to schools, providing students with access to technology and a modern digital education.
  • Promoting solidarity: The campaign creates a chain of responsibility between companies, institutions, NGOs and schools, setting in motion a circular economy model.
  • Support for professional inclusion: The refurbishment activity is carried out by vulnerable people employed in AFF workshops, offering them a job, vocational training and the chance for social reintegration.

Workshops Without Borders is a non-profit organization that promotes social inclusion and the circular economy through professional reintegration activities for vulnerable people. Within the educlick workshop, AFF collects, tests and reconditions IT equipment, giving it a second life. This reconditioned equipment is then donated to schools and other institutions in disadvantaged communities, thus supporting education and reducing environmental impact.
