ECOTIC expands its operations in Transylvania

The ECOTIC Association expands its activity in Transylvania in order to support the citizens and contribute to the correct collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and waste batteries and accumulators (DBA).

On September 27, 2019, the ECOTIC Association opens the gates of ECOTIC TRANSILVANIA, waste collection center for electrical and electronic equipment, light bulbs, lamps and waste batteries and accumulators located in Floresti Commune, Vidului Street no. 1A.

The event held inside the new collection center was attended by representatives of local partner institutions, representatives of companies and NGOs who presented the importance of opening a collection center in Cluj County. The representatives of ECOTIC Transilvania presented the services they will make available to the population in the area as well as the projects they will carry out in the next period.

ECOTIC TRANSILVANIA provides citizens and companies with a collection center where they can responsibly hand over waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), light bulbs and lamps and waste batteries and accumulators (DBA). At the same time, ECOTIC Transilvania will organize awareness and collection campaigns for WEEE and DBA, thus promoting selective collection among young people and adults alike.

„Cluj-Napoca City Hall organizes annual information and awareness campaigns on the importance of the selective collection process. As a result of the actions taken, the quantities of recyclable waste collected from the population in 2018 have more than doubled. ECOTIC TRANSILVANIA's approach supports the actions of local authorities organized in order to maintain a clean environment. " - says Iulia Perșa, Media Office Director, Cluj-Napoca City Hall.

"We want every citizen to understand the importance of selective collection as a means of protecting the environment and revaluing resources. This is one of the reasons why we decided to come closer to the area of ​​Transylvania and Banat by opening ECOTIC Transylvania. Citizens and companies in the area now have not only a collection center, but also an opportunity to get involved in environmental and awareness projects. ” declares Valentin Negoiță, President of ECOTIC.

In this context, between September 28 and 30, the ECOTIC Caravan will visit the city of Cluj-Napoca. ECOTIC, in partnership with Cluj-Napoca City Hall, ADI Cluj Metropolitan Area and ECOTIC TRANSILVANIA urges the people of Cluj to hand over electrical and electronic equipment and waste batteries and accumulators correctly to the ECOTIC Caravan that will be located in the Spring Park, between the hours of 10: 00-18: 00.

For the delivery of waste over 20kg cumulated, the citizens of Cluj will receive a voucher worth 10 lei, for the delivery of waste over 40kg cumulated a voucher worth 20 lei, and for the delivery of waste over 60kg cumulated a ticket of 30 lei People who will hand over waste between 5 and 19 kg in total will be automatically entered in the raffle, which will be organized on September 30 at 10:00.
