Workshops Without Borders and ECOTIC is looking for large companies and SMEs to fulfill their legal responsibilities for the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) through the only organization in Romania that collects and prepares IT equipment waste for reuse and donation. For another 3 months, companies that have used IT equipment for scrapping, can request Workshops Without Borders and ECOTIC free collection in the national campaign Join the Solidarity Circle, which will award the most involved companies at the Awards Gala for a Clean Environment, XNUMXth edition.

LCD monitors, laptops / notebooks and central units collected in this campaign, which meet the minimum parameters needed to be reused, will reach the end of 2019 and throughout 2020 in schools in disadvantaged areas of the country, after they have were reconditioned in the socio-professional insertion workshop reconnect of the Without Borders Workshop.

"We are already helping hundreds of companies meet their obligations related to waste management of electrical and electronic equipment. Of the volume of WEEE collected, around 30% can be reconditioned, so we manage to donate thousands of computers each year to the schools that need them most. If more companies joined us, we could have an even greater impact in reducing the computer gap, modernizing the teaching-learning process and supporting actions to reduce school dropout in disadvantaged communities. Through the campaign Join the Solidarity Circle, companies can become supporters of education simply by deciding to fulfill these legal obligations through AFF ', stated Patrick Ouriaghli, General Manager of Ateliere Fără Frontiere.

With the support of ECOTIC, the association has refurbished and donated to schools and public institutions in Romania over 15.000 refurbished computers so far. "All companies that deliver used IT equipment that can be refurbished, until October 31, 2019, enter the competition for the two trophies that we will offer at this year's edition of the Awards Gala for a Clean Environment, in two categories - SMEs and large companies, as a sign of recognition for their contribution to protecting the environment and the lives of children and young people in schools that will receive refurbished computers ", has completed Valentin Negoiță, President of ECOTIC.

Companies wishing to join the campaign can request the collection of used IT equipment at the email address collecte@atelierefarafrontiere.ro or through the reconect.ro and ecotic.ro sites.
