On Wednesday, December 11, ECOTIC organized the XNUMXth edition of Clean Environment Awards Gala, a reference event in the field of sustainability. During the ceremony, held in the presence of representatives of public authorities, companies and NGOs, the winners of this year's competition were awarded.
107 projects entered, 3 categories, 6 winners – one goal: a cleaner future! A prestigious jury, made up of experts from the Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests, Hotnews, InfoCons, the Sustainability Embassy in Romania, the Circular Economy Coalition and ECOTIC, had the difficult mission of selecting the winners from over 100 innovative projects.
2024 categories and winners:
ENVIRONMENTAL PROJECTS
- More Green Association - "Danubian Way": A trail that promotes ecotourism in the communities along the Danube, offering a new perspective on local sustainability.
- The Little Joys Association - "Climatic JEDI": An educational program that trains future climate leaders through practical actions, projects and the development of a community spirit.
- Eco Sustainable Association - "A Helping Hand": The first integrated circular economy center in Romania, a model for reducing waste and supporting communities.
SPECIAL AWARD for EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
- Technical College "Ana Aslan" Cluj-Napoca - "Recycling of used cooking oil through eco-education": An initiative that combines circular economy education with creative solutions such as soaps and candles made from waste oil.
SPECIAL AWARD for JOURNALISTS
- Adriana Totorean (Bihorean) – for the article "The perfect team: A 14-year-old girl and her grandfather are the volunteers who keep the Freedom Park in Oradea clean".
- Mention: Alina-Elena Vasiliu Stanciu (Ziarul Financiar) – for the article "Abandoned nature in the capital".
"This year's edition recorded a record number of projects entered in the competition (107), which demonstrates the growing interest in initiatives aimed at environmental protection and efficient use of resources. Most of the projects included good practices of local communities in the context of Romania's transition to the circular economy. Congratulations to all the participants in the competition!", declares Valentin Negoiță, President of ECOTIC.
Successful partnerships recognized in 2024: ECOTIC also awarded a number of companies and organizations for their active involvement in promoting environmental protection, as well as in the collection and recycling of electrical waste: Altex Romania, Electrolux, Schneider Electric, Daikin Airconditioning Central Europe – Romania SRL, GreenWEEE International International, Total Waste Recycling, REMATHOLDING Co, InfoCons and Workshops Without Borders. This year's edition was supported by Ministry of Environment, Water and Forests, Embassy of Sustainability in Romania, Coalition for Circular Economy, Info Cons, Union of Professional Journalists from Romania, APDETIC, ECSR.ro, Radio Romania Cultural, RFI Romania, EventsMax and Hotnews.
