ECOTIC and the Union of Professional Journalists of Romania launch a new edition of the contest "Journalism for a Clean Environment", an initiative dedicated to supporting and developing environmental journalism in Romania. The competition is aimed at journalists, reporters, vloggers and bloggers who produce press materials on environmental topics, regardless of the communication channel used.
Participants can submit materials on one or more of the themes proposed by the organizers:
- Climate change and biodiversity
- Ecological education in the education system
- Circular Economy and its impact on the economy and society
- Waste management and recycling (including WEEE and DBA)
- Using renewable energy and reducing carbon footprint
Articles, photo reports, blogs, vlogs, video reports, podcasts or radio/TV shows are accepted, both new materials and materials already published on one of the mentioned topics.
A jury made up of representatives of Ministry of Environment, Waters, Forests, ECOTIC, UZPR and InfoCons will evaluate the submitted works and designate the best press materials.
Each prize-winning place will be rewarded with Altex gift cards, the value of the prize increasing depending on the place obtained.
The First Place Winner will receive the award at the 2026 Clean Environment Awards Gala, the landmark event dedicated to recognizing excellence in the field of environmental protection.

Just as we have business, political, cultural or sports journalism, it is natural to also have environmental journalism, capable of transmitting to the public environmental legislation and policies, good practices in the field, as well as the contributions of each of us to the transition to the circular economy," declares Valentin Negoiță, President of ECOTIC.
Materials can be registered until the date of November 25, 2026.
