On 27.06.2013, at the Novotel hotel in Bucharest, EERA (European Electronic Recyclers Association) organized a seminar dedicated to the implementation of the new European WEEE Directive (2012/19 / EU), a seminar attended by representatives of the Romanian authorities: Elenea Dumitru - Secretary of State, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Nicoleta Chiriac - Adviser, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Ionut Musetoiu - Adviser, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, collective organizations and WEEE operators in Romania, as well as guests from WEEE in countries neighbors: Bulgaria, Greece and Hungary.
The seminar, chaired by Manfred Fahrner - President of EERA, encouraged discussions between the parties on regional issues related to WEEE management and administration.
During the meeting, Dragos Calugaru - General Manager of ECOTIC, gave a presentation in which he emphasized the current problems of Romania and the directions that should be followed. The presentation is available here.
We remind you that the new WEEE Directive must be implemented in the national legislation by February, 2014.
