Clean Cities, the ECOTIC itinerant campaign, dedicated to the collection of used electrical and electronic equipment from the urban environment, makes a new stop, this time, in Otopeni.
In period May 6 - 19, 2019, ECOTIC in partnership with Otopeni City Hall and URBAN SA encourages citizens to properly hand over for recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), following that any person who delivers waste of more than 5 kg accumulated to be automatically entered in the raffle, being able to win attractive prizes.
Temporary collection points are located at:
- intersection of 23 August Street with Mărgăritarului Street (City)
- intersection of Sofia Street with Church Street (Sat)
- intersection DN1 with Strada Ferme H with Strada Drumul Gării Balotești (Ferme)
- intersection of Tudor Vladimirescu Street with Iancu Jianu Street - plateau (Odăi)
At the same time, the inhabitants of Otopeni can benefit from a free service.
Thus, the collection of waste of large and bulky electrical and electronic equipment will be done from home, based on a prior appointment at the telephone number 021 35146 03.
Romania, as an EU member state, has the obligation to reach a target of 45% collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) by 2020. In this regard, ECOTIC continues its efforts to raise awareness among the population.

"Clean Cities" is the ECOTIC campaign that pursues this goal in the urban environment. Together with local public and environmental authorities, ECOTIC has informed and continues to inform residents of dozens of cities across the country about the need to collect WEEE, providing specialized collection points.
In 2017 and 2018, ECOTIC carried out over 35 campaigns that informed over 400.000 people.
