Starting with January 2020, Romanians are encouraged to "be in the country as well as abroad" and to hand over waste electrical and electronic equipment responsibly.

Between 21 and 25 September 2020, ECOTIC, Constanța City Hall and Vastum ECO urge the inhabitants of Constanța to hand over correctly for recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and that each person who delivers waste of at least 5kg cumulated will receive an instant prize, and for the delivery of waste over 19 kg accumulated to receive an instant prize and be entered in the raffle, having the chance to win one of the following prizes: refrigerator, TV and vacuum cleaner.

The collection point is located on the Industrial Road no. 9, Constanța, schedule 10:00 - 20:00.

The inhabitants of Constanța benefit from the free service of taking large and voluminous WEEE from home, by calling the number 0721 289 593. The collection from home will be done respecting the sanitary and safety requirements.

"It is important for the environment and for the good of us all, to understand the importance of separate collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment and to know the correct ways to dispose of it. Many of these WEEE contain toxic substances that harm not only the environment but also our health, which is why it is important to hand them over correctly, ensuring that they end up in recycling. The ECOTIC campaign does just that, urging citizens to hand over used electronics responsibly, thus protecting the environment. ” says Raluca Georgescu, director of the Public Services Management Department, Constanța City Hall.

"Clean Cities" Constanța is part of the national information campaign "Be with you in the country as well as abroad", organized by ECOTIC in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests. Its purpose is to contribute to the awareness of the Romanian public regarding the correct behavior towards a type of waste: WEEE - waste electrical and electronic equipment.

Through it, ECOTIC aims to promote good practices in the European Union and to inform the Romanian public on separate collection solutions for electrical and electronic waste available to all: electronics and home appliances stores, municipal collection points and campaigns on which ECOTIC carries out regularly, in urban and rural areas.
