ECOTIC launched in September 2011 the national awareness and collection campaign for WEEE in the public and private sector called Transformer. ECOTIC has thus launched the first portal for the collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) in Romania - www.transformatorul.com - through which companies and public institutions can get rid of scrapped equipment free of charge.
The WEEE collection campaign is carried out with the support of the National Environmental Guard and aims to inform legal entities about the risks to staff health and the environment posed by the possession of WEEE at companies' premises, as well as their collection in a manner interactive in order to protect the environment and revalue resources.
