CARAVANA ECOTIC is the project for which ECOTIC received co-financing through the LIFE instrument of the European Union for raising public awareness on the correct recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE).
On November 12, the ECOTIC Caravan was officially inaugurated in Bucharest, in Alba Iulia Square, in the presence of environmental authorities, partners and media representatives. The project takes place between November 2014 and June 2016 at national level.
The central element of the Caravan is a mobile exhibition in which are presented ten types of waste electrical and electronic equipment disassembled, highlighting for educational purposes their components.
ECOTIC and its partners in this project aim at the active involvement of at least 200 schools in Romania in ecological education and environmental protection. Also, the general public from the visited cities actively participates in this approach, the Caravan stationing in at least 30 public squares in the country.
So far, fish 20. 000 people visited the ECOTIC Caravan during the campaigns carried out in public squares in Romanian cities. by the end of August, 2015, 18 such campaigns took place, collecting over 10 tons of WEEE.
Out of the desire to share the message of recycling to a wider audience, the ECOTIC Caravan was placed in the networks of some retail stores benefiting from the support of our partners: Dedeman, Metro and Romstal. The caravan was also hosted at several SIGUREC points. Also, the Bucharest parks Herastrau, Carol, Cismigiu, Circului, Tineretului received the Caravan during the summer of 2015. The Mask Theater, the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant were also hosts of the ECOTIC Caravan. In total, over another 20.000 people have been informed about the ways in which WEEE and DBA can be properly taught, FOR A CLEAN ENVIRONMENT!
Also, over 50.000 students from 104 educational units they better understood the reasons why waste electrical and electronic equipment and used batteries must be collected and recycled correctly.

Craiova - Between July 24 and 31, 2015, W. Shakespeare Square - Esplanade of the National Theater hosted the Caravan. The event was organized together with Craiova City Hall, Dolj Environmental Protection Agency, Rematholding, Dedeman and Recolamp Association. More than a ton of WEEE was collected.
Pitesti - Between July 09 and 12, 2015, the Caravan was present on the stage behind the Al Theater. Davila, and the event was held with the City Hall, Dedeman, Rematholding, Recolamp Association.
mangalore - Between July 01 and 08, 2015, the Caravan was located behind the House of Culture, the campaign being organized in partnership with Dedeman, Rematholding, Recolamp, Mangalia City Hall, Constanta Environmental Protection Agency. More than a ton of waste electrical and electronic equipment was collected.
Bucharest, sector 3 - Between June 26 and 30, 2015, the ECOTIC Caravan was placed in the IOR Park, in order to carry out the campaign intended for the general public. The partners of this campaign were Likeit, Recolamp, the Bucharest Environmental Protection Agency and Total Waste Recycling.
Buzau - Between May 22 and 24, 2015, Dacia Square hosted the ECOTIC Caravan, partners of the event being GREENWEEE International, Recolamp, Buzau City Hall, Buzau Environmental Protection Agency.
Galati - Between May 15 and 17, 2015, the ECOTIC Caravan could be found on the esplanade in the Golden Horseshoe area. the partners of the event were GREENWEEE International, Recolamp, Primaqria Galati, the Galati Environmental Protection Agency and the Ecosal Public Service.
Braila - Between May 08 and 10, 2015, in the side parking lot of the Administrative Palace, the Caravan was opened to the general public. The partners of the event were GREENWEEE International, Recolamp, Braila City Hall, Braila Environmental Protection Agency and RER Ecological Service.
Focsani - Between April 24 and 26, 2015, Piata Unirii hosted the ECOTIC Caravan. the partners of the event were Dedeman, Recolamp, Focșani City Hall, Focșani Environmental Protection Agency and Remat Vrancea.
Iasi - Between April 03 and 05, 2015, the Caravan was located in Palace Square in Iasi. The event was organized by ECOTIC together with Dedeman, Recolamp, Iasi City Hall, Iasi Environmental Protection Agency and Salubris Iasi.
Botosani - between March 20 and 22, 2015, together with Dedeman, Recolamp, Botosani City Hall, Botosani Environmental Protection Agency and Urban Serv, ECOTIC organized the event for Botosani residents.
Suceava - the event took place between March 06 and 08, 2015, in front of the House of Culture. Organizers, along with ECOTIC were Dedeman, Recolamp, Suceava City Hall, Suceava Environmental Protection Agency and Rosal Suceava.
Piatra Neamt - the general public was invited to visit the ECOTIC Caravan parked in front of the Union Culture House between February 20 and 22, 2015, between 10:00 and 18:00. They could hand over waste electrical and electronic equipment, waste batteries. and waste light sources. Over 1,5 tons of WEEE were collected, the presence being the most numerous compared to previous events. The campaign was organized with the support of Dedeman, Recolamp, Piatra Neamt City Hall, Piatra Neamt Environmental Protection Agency and Brantner.
Bacau, the event dedicated to the general public was organized between 05 - 08 February 2015 together with the Bacau Environmental Protection Agency, the City Hall and Dedeman. The caravan was opened to the general public in Tricolor Square, in front of the House of Culture.
Brasov he was also the host of events for the general public organized at the ECOTIC Caravan. Between January 23 and 25, 2015, the ECOTIC Caravan was located in Uranus Park - Astra Square. The partners of the event were the Agency for Environmental Protection Brasov, the City Hall of Brasov, Recolamp, Dedeman and Urban SA. 294 WEEE were handed over, following the correct course of recycling.
Sector 2 of the Capital hosted the Caravan between December 19 and 22, being positioned behind the Obor store. The partners were the City Hall of Sector 2, the Bucharest Environmental Protection Agency and Supercom. 133 wastes of electrical and electronic equipment were collected, weighing over 200 kg.
Sector 6 of the Capital - between 12 and 14 December 2014, ECOTIC together with Bucharest City Hall of Sector 6, The Bucharest Environmental Protection Agency and Urban Serv SA joined forces to organize the event in sector 6. The caravan was located at the intersection between Bdul. Iuliu Maniu and Bdul Virtutii. A little over 365 kg of WEEE were collected, and 107 wastes were handed over.
Giurgiu - between 05 - 07 December 2014 The ECOTIC Caravan was located on the pedestrian street Mircea cel Batrin, partners of the event being the City Hall of the locality as well as the Agency for Environmental Protection Giurgiu.
Slatina - between November 21 and 23, 2014. The event was organized together with the Agency for Environmental Protection Olt and the City Hall of Slatina. The caravan parked in front of the commercial complex located at the intersection of Vintila Voda Street with Bdul. Al. I. Cuza, 180 vouchers being offered, collecting over 300 kg of WEEE.
