Between September 10 and 30, ECOTIC in partnership with SC Salubris Iasi SA, the Agency for Environmental Protection Iasi (APM) and the City Hall of Iasi, organizes the campaign "Recycling - A way of life! ”. Through this action, the organizers came once again in support of the inhabitants of Iasi, offering environmentally friendly solutions for the separate collection of old and used electrical and electronic equipment. During the project, 3 more temporary collection points were opened, in addition to the five functional ones throughout the year.
A decisive factor in transforming the gesture of selective collection into a habit is determined by the awareness of the danger of these equipments from the moment they become waste. WEEE contains toxic substances such as mercury and other heavy metals or various bromides. Even in small quantities, they pollute the soil, water and air. The health of each of us depends on the simple gesture of responsibly handing over any waste electrical and electronic equipment.
Also, by the correct recycling of WEEE, secondary raw materials are recovered, which we will find in new products.
Those who brought at least 10 kg of old and used electrical and electronic equipment or 3 equipment at temporary or permanent points received an instant gift - a seasonal accessory.
Over 250 people handed over over 2.500 kg of such waste electrical and electronic equipment.
The municipal collection points open throughout the year are the following:
- Monday: Point "Parking 24 hours" - Str. Alba, no. 1, open from 10.00 to 18.00;
- Tuesday: Point „Han Tătar” - esplanade Oancea - Str. Han Tătar - Tătărași, between 10.00 - 18.00;
- Wednesday: "Stone Bridge" Point - Str. Nicolae Iorga (near vulcanization): between 10.00 - 18.00;
- Thursday: Point "Păcurari Square" - Str. Cazărmilor, no. 11, between 10.00 - 18.00;
- Friday: Point "South Square" (CUG) - Str. Răzoarelor, no. 9, between 10.00 - 18.00.
We can all collect and dispose of waste electrical and electronic equipment responsibly.
