Orase Curate (Clean Cities), the itinerant ECOTIC campaign, dedicated to the collection of used electrical and electronic equipment from the urban environment, makes a new stop in the city of Bârlad.

In period July 2 - 6, 2018, ECOTIC in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, APM Vaslui, Bârlad City Hall and Priscom Bârlad, encourages citizens to properly hand over waste for electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) for recycling, following that for the delivery of a waste of at least 5kg cumulated, to receive an instant prize.

The collection centers are located as follows:

  • Esplanade Square (Florist area)
  • Piața Mică (Str. Epureanu, no. 40)
  • Intersections in the Garments area (Carbochim)

The program is Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 to 11:00 and from 15:00 to 17:00.

At the same time, the inhabitants of Bârlad can benefit from a free service. Thus, the collection of waste of large and bulky electrical and electronic equipment will be done from home, on July 2 and 4, based on a prior appointment at the phone number 0751 110 552.

"We try to sensitize the inhabitants of Bârlad on the importance of separate collection of recyclable waste, through information / awareness activities, encouraging them to selectively hand over waste that can be recycled, especially waste electrical and electronic equipment" says Adrian Prisecaru, representative of Priscom Bârlad.

Romania, as an EU member state, has the obligation to reach a target of 45% collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) by 2020. In this regard, ECOTIC continues its efforts to raise awareness among the population.

"Clean cities" is the ECOTIC campaign that pursues this goal in the urban environment. Together with local public and environmental authorities, ECOTIC has informed and continues to inform residents of dozens of cities across the country about the need to collect WEEE, providing specialized collection points.

In 2017 and in the first part of 2018, ECOTIC carried out 31 campaigns that informed approximately 320.000 people and led to the collection of 50 tons of WEEE.
