Starting with January 2020, Romanians are encouraged to "be in the country as well as abroad" and to hand over waste electrical and electronic equipment responsibly.

At the end of August and beginning of September ECOTIC, the Eco - Metropolitan Cluj Intercommunity Development Association, Vad City Hall, Chiuiești City Hall and ECOTIC Transilvania urge the inhabitants of Vad and Chiuiești communes, respectively, to hand over waste for electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) correctly for recycling. following that each person who hands over waste between 5 and 40 kg accumulated will be automatically entered in the raffle with prizes, and for the delivery of waste over 40 kg accumulated to be registered in the raffle with prizes and receive an instant prize.

Campaign scheduling is as follows:

  • August 28 - 29 Vad commune. The collection point is located at the Vad City Hall
  • September 4 - 5 Chiuiești commune. The collection point is located in front of the Chiuiești Home

Residents of both communes benefit from a free home collection service for large and bulky WEEE, by calling the number  0748 326 842. Collection at home will be done in compliance with health and safety requirements.

"Such a campaign has a very important role, especially in rural areas, as these areas often lack information on separate collection, and thus collection points. Basically, the Clean Common campaign brings information and collection points to people's doors. ” says Marius Ungurean, western regional coordinator of the ECOTIC Association.

"Clean Communes" Vad and Chiuiești are part of the national information campaign "Be at home in the country as well as abroad", organized by ECOTIC in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests. Its purpose is to contribute to the awareness of the Romanian public regarding the correct behavior towards a type of waste: WEEE - waste electrical and electronic equipment.

Through it, ECOTIC aims to promote good practices in the European Union and to inform the Romanian public on the solutions for separate collection of electrical and electronic waste available to all: electronics and home appliances stores, municipal collection points and campaigns on which ECOTIC carries out regularly, in urban and rural areas.
