Clean Cities, the ECOTIC itinerant campaign, dedicated to the collection of used electrical and electronic equipment from the urban environment, makes a new stop, this time, in the city of Bârlad.

Between 22 and 26 October 2018, ECOTIC in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Barlad City Hall, Vaslui Environmental Protection Agency, National Environmental Guard and Priscom Barlad encourages citizens to hand over waste for electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) correctly for recycling, receiving an instant prize for the delivery of waste over 10 kg or cumulative waste of 10 kg.

The collection centers are located as follows:

  • Piața Mică (Str. Epureanu, no. 40)
  • Center - Trandafirul Florist

The program is Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:00 to 14:00.

At the same time, the people of Bârlad can benefit from a free service. Thus, the collection of waste of large and bulky electrical and electronic equipment will be done from home, between October 22 and 26, based on a prior appointment at the telephone number 0751110552.

"We try to sensitize the inhabitants of Bârlad on the importance of separate collection of recyclable waste, through information / awareness activities, encouraging them to selectively hand over waste that can be recycled, especially waste electrical and electronic equipment" says Adrian Prisecaru, representative of Priscom Bârlad.

Romania, as an EU member state, has the obligation to reach a target of 45% collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) by 2020. In this regard, ECOTIC continues its efforts to raise awareness among the population.

"Clean Cities" is the ECOTIC campaign that pursues this goal in the urban environment. Together with local public and environmental authorities, ECOTIC has informed and continues to inform residents of dozens of cities across the country about the need to collect WEEE, providing specialized collection points.

In 2017 and in the first part of 2018, ECOTIC carried out 31 campaigns that informed approximately 320.000 people.
