Clean Cities, the ECOTIC itinerant campaign, dedicated to the collection of used electrical and electronic equipment from the urban environment, makes a new stop, this time, in Galati.

In period April 2 - 26, 2019, ECOTIC in partnership with Galati City Hall, APM Galati, National Environmental Guard Galati County Commissariat, ECOSAL Galati, SC Apa Canal SA Galati, Transurb SA Galati and Galati County School Inspectorate encourages citizens to properly hand over waste for electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) ), following that for the delivery of waste between 15kg and 35kg cumulated, to receive a voucher worth 10 lei, and for waste over 35 kg cumulated, a voucher worth 20 lei.

The municipal collection centers are:

  • Punct Verde - Drumul Viilor, no.1, from Monday to Saturday, between 8:00 - 16:00, Sunday 8:00 - 12:00;
  • Nufarului Street, no. 24-26, from Monday to Friday, between 7:00 and 14:00;

At the same time, the inhabitants of Galati can benefit from a free service. Thus, the collection of waste of large and bulky electrical and electronic equipment will be done from home, based on a prior appointment at the phone numbers 0236312282 and 0372741887. A team SP ECOSAL Galati will move and collect WEEE from home.

Romania, as an EU member state, has the obligation to reach a target of 45% collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) by 2020. In this regard, ECOTIC continues its efforts to raise awareness among the population.

"The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness among Galatians about the importance of separate collection of recyclable waste, encouraging them to selectively hand over recyclable waste, especially waste electrical and electronic equipment," said Furtuna Mirela Elena, general manager of Ecosal Public Service Galati.

"Clean Cities" is the ECOTIC campaign that pursues this goal in the urban environment. Together with local public and environmental authorities, ECOTIC has informed and continues to inform residents of dozens of cities across the country about the need to collect WEEE, providing specialized collection points.

In 2017 and 2018, ECOTIC carried out over 35 campaigns that informed over 400.000 people.
