Clean Cities, the ECOTIC itinerant campaign, dedicated to the collection of used electrical and electronic equipment from the urban environment, makes a new stop, this time, in the city of Siret.

Between 12 and 16 November 2018, ECOTIC in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Siret City Hall, and Siret Communal Services encourages the citizens of the city to hand over correctly for recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), following the delivery of a 20 kg waste (minimum) accumulated to receive gift vouchers.

The collection center is located in the parking lot of the House of Culture (Monday - Friday, schedule 08 - 16).

At the same time, the citizens of Siret can benefit from a free service. Thus, the collection of waste of large and bulky electrical and electronic equipment will be done from home based on a prior appointment at the telephone number 0758053111.

"We try to raise awareness among Siret residents about the importance of separate waste collection through information activities, encouraging them to selectively hand over recyclable waste, especially waste electrical and electronic equipment," said Florin Catz, East ECOTIC Area Coordinator. .

Romania, as an EU member state, has the obligation to reach a target of 45% collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) by 2020. In this regard, ECOTIC continues its efforts to raise awareness among the population.

"Clean Cities" is the ECOTIC campaign that pursues this goal in the urban environment. Together with local public and environmental authorities, ECOTIC has informed and continues to inform residents of dozens of cities across the country about the need to collect WEEE, providing specialized collection points.

In 2017 and in the first part of 2018, ECOTIC carried out 31 campaigns that informed approximately 320.000 people.
