"Recycling Station" is an information and waste collection campaign for electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), launched by Organization ECOTIC in June 2016 and dedicated especially to the rural environment in Romania. After passing through the counties of Iași, Brașov and Argeș, The Recycling Station also starts in Sibiu County, starting from July 18 2017, with the support of the Sibiu Environmental Protection Agency, the Eco Sibiu Intercommunity Development Agency, RECHORALEX, as well as with the informative support of the Sibiu National Environmental Guard.

In 2017, Romania has a mandatory national target for the collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) of 45%. In this context, the ECOTIC Organization has launched since 2016, two national campaigns - one dedicated to the urban environment (Clean Cities) and one dedicated especially to the rural one (Recycling Station), both meant to best cover the territory of the country and to send the message the need to collect and recycle WEEE correctly to the widest possible audience.

Starting with July 18, the first localities visited in Sibiu County are:

  • Dumbrăveni (July 18-20)
  • Moşna (July 21-23)
  • Copșa Mică (July 24-26)
  • Avrig (July 27-29)
  • Cristian (July 30 - August 1)

Until the end of the campaign, the ECOTIC Caravan will visit 15 localities in Sibiu.

To pick up bulky equipment (TV, refrigerators, washing machines) from home, the inhabitants of the visited localities are invited to call the telephone number 0732.148.550, between 10:00 and 17:00, on the first day of the campaign for each locality, and the takeover will be made within the next day.
