Ateliere Fara Frontiere together with ECOTIC and RREUSE organized on March 19, 2015 the conference "Reuse and recycling: towards a social and circular economy". The subject of the conference was the evolution of public policies and the legislative framework in Romania from the perspective of Romania's European obligations and commitments in the field of social economy, circular and sustainable development.

The event was attended by representatives of central public authorities, environmental NGOs, private companies and experts from the European network of social enterprises for reuse and recycling RREUSE who gave examples of good European practice.
Among the main topics discussed were the National Waste Management Strategy, the National Strategy for reducing food waste, transposing European directives on WEEE, differentiated tax for selective collection and landfill tax, introduction of social and environmental clauses in public procurement and other environmental and tax regulations.

"At Ateliere Fara Frontiere we collect, test, reuse and recycle electrical and electronic waste (WEEE) and advertising and turn it into jobs for the insertion of disadvantaged people, into equipment reconditioned by reuse that reaches through donations where they are needed, in new products and secondary raw materials through recycling! Starting from these local experiences we try to come up with proposals for integrated and voluntary public policies at regional, national and European level. Said Patrick Ouriaghli, director of Ateliere Fara Frontiere.

"With the introduction of new technologies on the market, some already existing equipment becomes to some extent useless. But this equipment can make life easier for people in difficulty and can also help reduce discrepancies in society. We are glad that through the partnership with Ateliere Fara Frontiere, important quantities of refurbished computers reach these communities. We are confident that much more can be done at the national level. " - Dragos Calugaru, General Director of the ECOTIC Association
