A number of 12 people representing the environmental authorities in Serbia, on a one-week study visit to Romania for WEEE issues, guided by representatives of the Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests, visited ECOTIC on Monday, November 14.11.2016, XNUMX.

The visit is part of a project financed with European funds - http://hazardouswaste-serbia.info/ms/hazardouswaste-serbia/hw_en/hw_en/

In addition to ECOTIC, the delegation also visited WEEE treatment operators and the integrated waste management system in Arges County.

In the 2 hours of interaction at ECOTIC headquarters, Valentin Negoita - President of ECOTIC and Dragos Calugaru - General Manager of ECOTIC presented the WEEE field in Romania, which is the role of OTRs and authorities and answered multiple questions.

Unlike Romania, in Serbia there is a tax that is paid directly to the state for the equipment placed on the market and a small part of this contribution reaches some WEEE treatment units.

In the perspective of the association with the European Union, the implementation of the directives is necessary and the legislative framework must be changed.

We were happy to help our friends in Serbia at the beginning of the road. Especially since, in a similar way, the Romanian authorities and industry representatives, including Valentin Negoita as APDETIC President, participated 12 years ago in study visits to European countries and helped us in developing the legislative framework. and its implementation.
