Iași Municipal Collection Center (CMCI) is a premiere for Romania, being the first universal municipal waste collection center in households private. The center was inaugurated a year ago, in March 2016. Since its opening, over 40 tons of waste have been handed over by over 1000 residents of Iași. On March 10, 2017, a new campaign was launched to encourage the population to properly hand over waste for recycling, by organizing an anniversary raffle with attractive prizes. The anniversary campaign took place between March 10 and April 10, 2017. Over 300 residents of Iasi participated and handed over waste responsibly. The result of a partnership between ECOTIC, Iasi City Hall and SALUBRIS SA, Iasi Municipal Collection Center is a solution modern, well thought out, made with European know-how, meant to give a civilized and environmentally friendly direction to the environment of recyclable waste that would otherwise end up in the landfill.
At CMCI, the population can easily hand over, either by car or on foot, all types of waste that can be generated at home: broken electrical, plastic, paper, glass, old clothes, old or non-functional furniture, construction waste.
The anniversary raffle was meant to further encourage the people of Iași to collectively collect and participate in the recycling process. Thus, anyone who taught at the Center in Stradela Grădinari no. 26, Iași, at least one waste, according to the regulations, between March 10 and April 10, 2017, was automatically entered in a raffle with attractive prizes, offered by Dedeman.
