The sixth edition of the Awards Gala for a Clean Environment, organized by ECOTIC, ALUCRO, the Association for Consumer Protection and Promotion of Programs and Strategies in Romania and Hotnews, awarded its laureates on Thursday, December 11, in the presence of environmental authorities, of partners and media representatives.

The Awards Gala for a Clean Environment, now in its sixth edition, is a form of recognition and promotion of campaigns dedicated to environmental protection. Thus, the organizers award every year the best projects and examples of good practices designed to improve environmental conditions in local communities, as well as social responsibility programs.

This year's edition of the Gala took place on the online platform www.galapremiilorpentrumediu.eu, between October 01 and November 30, 2014, bringing together by the end of the registration period 61 projects aimed at protecting the environment, conserving the planet's resources and preventing their waste, developed by companies, public institutions, educational institutions and non-governmental organizations. This year, the Clean Environment Awards Gala brought together the largest number of projects entered in this competition.

"We are extremely involved for these ongoing projects, but without the involvement of civil society the results would be much more difficult to achieve. This is also the reason why the Ministry of Environment launched this year, through AFM, a financing line through which we allocated 20 million lei to NGOs that want to get involved in projects to raise awareness of environmental issues. Around us are people we have to thank because through them measures are implemented for a cleaner environment, a lower consumption of resources. Said Anne-Marie Juganaru, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change.

In the NGO category, the Bucharest Decathlon Solar Association was designated the winner for the efforts made within the EFdeN project.
