Awards Gala For A Clean Environment, at height!

The gala of the winners of the fifth edition of the Awards for a Clean Environment took place on Thursday, December 12. In a select company, representatives of central and national authorities, important players in the field of recycling, top companies in the field of IT&C, representatives of environmental NGOs, educational institutions and media representatives, organizers of the 2013 edition - ECOTIC, Alucro - Every Can Counts, the National Association for Consumer Protection and Promotion of Romanian Programs and Strategies and, under the auspices of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, awarded the winners of the fifth edition of the Clean Environment Awards Gala.

The Clean Environment Awards Gala is a form of recognition and promotion of environmental protection campaigns. Thus, the organizers award every year the best projects and examples of good practices designed to improve environmental conditions in local communities, as well as social responsibility programs developed by companies, public institutions and non-governmental organizations.

Starting with 2009, the Clean Environment Awards Gala brought together laureates from both business - Rompetrol, Vodafone Romania, Siemens Romania - from educational institutions, military units, but also environmental NGOs, such as Let's Do It, Romania. Any legal entity in Romania has the possibility to be part of the winners of the Gala, the condition being that the project carried out should aim at environmental protection.

47 projects for environmental protection and reuse of natural resources were submitted in this edition. The jury, made up of representatives of the organizers, of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change and of, after long debates, decided the winners of 2013.

The arrival of the envelopes containing the names of the winners of the fifth edition of the Awards Gala for a Clean Environment was made with the help of a drone, the moment being a unique one for the over 150 participants in the event. The drone was piloted by its builder Petrisor Serban, a young Romanian entrepreneur.

The third place was obtained by the Save the Danube and Delta Association with the project called Vacaresti Natural Park.

The second place was obtained by the Faculty of Engineering within the “Constantin Brancusi” University of Targu Jiu with the project New construction materials obtained through the eco-sustainable recycling of industrial waste - EcoWASTES.

The first place rewarded the efforts of the Zibo Help Association submitted in the project School for a Green Romania.

Mentions obtained the following projects: Let's Plant for the Planet - MaiMultVerde Association, Protect the environment! Get involved too! - ProCreditBank, Learn to recycle! - Mega Image, Recicleta - ViitorPlus - Association for Sustainable Development.

The sponsors of the event, Vlamir Impex and Asbis, awarded the THINK GREEN! Ecological education and social responsibility project developed by the Pro Europa Association, and Apa Nova Bucharest for the I´ma New Man for the Earth! I am a new man for the Planet !.

Also, Alucro designated the winners from among the partners, awarding the Prize for Education to Mrs. Elena Talpau, School no. 2 “Deacon Coresi”, Brasov. 

The Prize for Companies was awarded to Celestica Romania, to Mr. Sorin Petre and the Prize for Collector was awarded to Ecocycle, to Mr. Marian Luca.

The green companies designated by ECOTIC for their special contribution to the awareness and collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment were Samsung Romania, Altex Romania and real, -Hypermarket Romania, awarded in the same event.

The Environmental Protection Agencies from Cluj, Buzau, Giurgiu, Teleorman, received Special Awards for initiatives in promoting an ecological attitude among the young generation.

Also, the sanitation companies Retim Ecologic Service, Supercom, Salubris Iasi and Urban Serv Botosani received from ECOTIC Green Awards for involvement and outstanding results in WEEE collection activity in 2013. GreenWEEE International obtained the Diploma of Merit for outstanding initiatives and results in collaboration with ECOTIC.

At the end of the evening, the Mask Theater wished to wish those present and not only a lot of luck in carrying out all the activities undertaken FOR A CLEAN ENVIRONMENT, by supporting the pantomime show called "Cosarii".
