"And the little ones do great deeds!" is an annual national campaign for awareness and collection of used batteries (DBA), dedicated to kindergartens in Romania. Made by ECOTIC BAT, the campaign reached its fifth edition, at the end of which 1,85 tons of DBA were collected from 180 registered kindergartens.
At first glance, they seem small, but with the right tools, children in kindergartens in Romania have shown that if they are encouraged and allowed to try their best, they can do great things!
At the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year, ECOTIC started a new campaign with a simple mechanism, meant to arouse first of all the interest of the little ones, but also the mobilization of the big ones. In short, "And the little ones do great deeds!" is a competition between kindergartens that choose to enroll in the program, based on the quantities of used batteries collected.
The educational component of the campaign "And the little ones do great deeds!" had priority, in this sense ECOTIC BAT preparing materials suitable for preschool age. A book with stories, questions and instructions mobilized the little ones and, while playing, informed them about what it means to care for the environment, what used batteries are and why it is important not to throw them in the trash, but to collect them and we teach them correctly for recycling.
180 kindergartens from all over the country enrolled in the program, achieving praiseworthy results. 1,85 tons of used batteries were collected. Congratulations to all the children, parents and teachers for the donation they collected for a clean environment!
Nine kindergartens were awarded for exceptional results in the DBA collection:
1st place: SFANTA FILOFTEIA Kindergarten, Brasov - 248 kg used batteries collected
2st place: Kindergarten extended no. 16, Iasi - 120,44 kg of used batteries collected
3st place: Kindergarten with Extended Program no.39, Galati - 80,8 kg of used batteries collected
4st place: Kindergarten with Extended Program PARFUM DE TEI, Cluj Napoca - 51,1 kg used batteries collected
5st place: ANA LUGOJANA Primary School Headquarters 2, Bucharest - 43,1 kg of used batteries collected
6st place: Kindergarten PP NR 4, Lugoj - 37 kg used batteries collected
7st place: Kindergarten extended no. 9, Piatra Neamt - 32,24 kg used batteries collected
8st place: Kindergarten with Normal Program no. 5 (former no. 20), Brasov - 30 kg of used batteries collected
9st place: Kindergarten extended no. 37, Braila - 29,87 kg used batteries collected
