The "Recycling Station" is a national public information campaignRecycling stationand collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) in rural areas. On June 14, 2016, the "Recycling Station" started in the first stage of the campaign, crossing 5 localities in Iasi County. On July 14, 2016, the second stage of the "Recycling Station" begins.

The campaign is organized by ECOTIC in partnership with the Iasi Intercommunity Development Association (ADIS) and the Iasi Environmental Protection Agency. In the context in which, starting with 2016, Romania has a mandatory national target of 40% for WEEE collection, there is a real need for itinerant, extensive campaigns to reach as diverse environments as possible and to inform about the importance of collecting and recycling these types. waste, for the benefit of the environment and the quality of life.

In 2016, ECOTIC launched two such campaigns, one in urban areas - CLEAN CITIES, and one in rural areas - Recycling Station.

The route of the Recycling Station, in July, is the following:

  1. Tomesti commune - July 14 - 16
  2. Holboca commune - July 17 - 19
  3. Popricani commune - July 20 - 22
  4. Vladeni commune - July 23 - 25
  5. Commune Sipote - July 26-28

Residents will be informed about the presence of the "Recycling Station" in their locality and will be encouraged to hand over WEEE, by organizing a raffle with prizes: a brushcutter, two egg incubators and three tool kits can be won by those who will teach at least Cumulative 5 kg of waste electrical and electronic equipment.

"Through this campaign we want to encourage the separate collection of both municipal and WEEE waste. It is the obligation of the local public authorities to set up separate WEEE collection points and the Adis Iasi Association in partnership with ECOTIC and APM Iasi meets them in order to achieve the recycling objectives. We consider that the most important step is the creation of a separate collection infrastructure, as well as the development of campaigns for information and awareness. We welcome the involvement of ADIS member local authorities in this project by registering a number of 16 communes in Iasi County and for the good results of the first stage of the campaign " Razvan Gheorghiu - Executive Director of ADIS Iasi.
