"Recycling Station", Brasov: results of the first stage, 4 tons of WEEE collected

After passing through the communes of Iasi County, the Recycling Station - national campaign for waste collection of electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) in rural areas, developed by the ECOTIC Organization, started in Brasov County, with the support of Brasov Prefecture, Agency for Environmental Protection Brasov and DEDEMAN.

Launched in June 2016, the campaign aims to convey the message of the need to collect and recycle electrical waste in the village, providing information that has rarely been provided to rural residents. People have learned what WEEE means, why this waste is hazardous and why it should be recycled.

Along with the autumn, the Recycling Station passed through the first five localities in Brasov County.

These were the communes of Moieciu (September 19-21), Bran (September 22-24), Zarnesti (September 25-27), Vulcan (September 28-30) and Cristian (October 1-3), from where they were collected. 4,2 tons of electrical and electronic waste.

Until the end of November, the ECOTIC Caravan will visit 15 Brasov localities. Residents will be informed and encouraged to hand over waste electrical and electronic equipment, thus participating in a raffle with attractive prizes.
