2021 In Review
Foreword
The results of 2021 confirm the upward trend recorded by ECOTIC in the last 15 years in WEEE management: achieving the 65% collection target, intensifying awareness and collection campaigns and developing the collection infrastructure at national level.
- For ECOTIC, an important success in 2021 is the achievement of the 65% collection target, by collecting 56,749 tons of WEEE, the largest volume collected so far in Romania.
- Another notable achievement is the development of our own national collection infrastructure, which has reached 9200 collection points.
- In 2021 we organized 365 awareness and collection campaigns and eco projects accompanied by the national information campaign "Act in Romania like abroad!"
- The satisfaction level of ECOTIC affiliated producers has reached 95,2%, according to the satisfaction questionnaire.
- 2021 Clean Environment Awards Gala, conducted online, brought together 45 projects from across the country.
We appreciate the remarkable results of 2021, obtained in a difficult context caused by the pandemic. The achievement was made possible through close collaboration with producers, retailers, collection and recycling partners and environmental authorities.

Increasing the target to 65% starting this year represented a development of operational activity and increased efforts to achieve it.
Local partnerships, home WEEE collection services, expansion of collection infrastructure, campaigns addressing both companies and the general public were the main directions for reaching the target. The collection points system has been extended by over XNUMX new collection points, thus coming to the aid of citizens

In 2021, ECOTIC has developed new awareness-raising actions for local public authorities, companies and journalists, under the title of EcoForum. Thus, these categories learned about the responsibilities that each actor has in the management of electrical and electronic waste. The 5 webinars gathered over 340 participants from LPAs, town halls, county councils, central and local media, medium and large companies. |
