About us
ECOTIC is the first organization of producers and importers of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) in Romania, founded in 2006 with the aim of bringing more efficiency in fulfilling their environmental responsibilities.
ECOTIC manages waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) on behalf of approx 700 affiliated producers and importers.
ECOTIC ensures and supervises the entire process of taking over, transport, dismantling and recycling so that, in the end, WEEE is no longer a danger. 400 tons of WEEE were managed in the ECOTIC system in all years of activity. The prompt and specialized consultancy offered to manufacturers of electrical equipment, batteries and accumulators is a defining element of ECOTIC.
In addition to managing the responsibilities of producers, ECOTIC actively contributes to informing the Romanian population about the importance of separate collection of these types of waste, through a series of projects dedicated to both schools and companies and the entire community.
ECOTIC introduced in 2007, for the first time on the Romanian market, the Green Stamp® - a symbol that has become, over time, for consumers, a guarantee of the correct management of WEEE.
TV or Green stamp is the remuneration meant to cover the costs of collection, reuse, recycling, recovery and non-polluting disposal of WEEE and the costs of consumer awareness, activities that must be financed by EEE producers, according to art. 28-32 of GEO 5/2015.
Since 2011, ECOTIC is certified in accordance with the integrated standard of the quality management system ISO 9001: 2015, of the environmental management system ISO 14001: 2015, and from 2012 with the standard ISO 27001: 2018 (information security), receiving recertification at each assessment.

The leadership of the ECOTIC Organization is ensured by the General Assembly of Associates.
The administration and management of the Organization between the General Assemblies is performed by the Board of Directors.
ECOTIC IS A MEMBER OF THE INTERNATIONAL WEEE FORUM ORGANIZATION, OF WEEEEUROPE, OF THE PROCEEDS COALION OF ROMANIA AND A FOUNDING MEMBER OF THE WEEELABEX ORGANIZATION.
