The ECOTIC "Clean Cities" campaign is back

September of this year brings to the public's attention collection campaigns that will take place in three cities simultaneously.

Clean Cities, the ECOTIC itinerant campaign, dedicated to the collection of used electrical and electronic equipment from the urban environment, returns in sector 2 of Bucharest as well as in the cities of Giurgiu and Motru.

 In period September 23 - 28, 2019, ECOTIC encourages citizens to properly dispose of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) for recycling.

 Thus, ECOTIC in partnership with the City Hall of Sector 2 and Supercom SA encourages citizens to hand over correctly for recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment to dedicated collection centers:

  • Baicului, no. 69, Sector 2 (Piata de Gros Antrefrig area), with daily schedule 9:00 - 17:00
  • Heliade Radulescu no. 33 (Obor area), with daily schedule 9:00 - 17:00

 For the delivery of a waste of at least 5kg cumulated, participants will be automatically entered in the raffle, and can win prizes such as TV, microwave or iron.

At the same time, the inhabitants of Sector 2 can benefit from a free service. Thus, the collection of waste of large and bulky electrical and electronic equipment will be done from home, based on a prior appointment at the phone number 0219654.

 

During the same period, the ECOTIC campaign "Clean Cities" stops in Giurgiu, where in partnership with the City Hall of Giurgiu, Giurgiu County Council, ANPM Giurgiu and Rosal, citizens are expected to hand over WEEE for recycling to the following collection centers:

  • Gloriei, no. 5
  • Aleea Plantelor, no. 25

 For the delivery of waste between 20kg and 40kg, the participants receive a gift voucher worth 10 lei, and for the delivery of waste over 40kg they will receive a gift voucher worth 20 lei. When handing over 5kg cumulated, participants are automatically entered in the raffle, they can win attractive prizes.

For taking over from home the bulky waste from home, the people of Giurgiu are asked to make an appointment at the phone number 0786.398.516

  

The Clean Cities campaign also stops in Motru. Between September 23 and 27, 2019, ECOTIC in partnership with Motru City Hall, ANPM Gorj and Motru Public Directorate, carry out collection and awareness activities.

Collection center:

  • Calea Tismanei, no. 31, with hours from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 13:00

 For the delivery of waste of at least 5kg cumulated, participants receive an instant prize, within the available stock.

Romania, as an EU member state, has the obligation to reach a target of 45% collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) by 2020. In this regard, ECOTIC continues its efforts to raise awareness among the population.

"Clean Cities" is the ECOTIC campaign that pursues this goal in the urban environment. Together with public and local authorities, ECOTIC has informed and continues to inform residents of dozens of cities across the country on the need to collect WEEE, providing specialized collection points.

In 2018, ECOTIC carried out 53 collection and awareness campaigns, which informed over 320.000 people.
