On April 12, 2016, the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Romania (CCIFER) organized a round table on "Selective waste collection: the legislative framework and good practices in Romania". The event took place at CCIFER headquarters and was organized in partnership with Ateliere Fără Frontiere and ECOTIC.

In the context of the increasingly firm European framework regarding selective collection and recycling, as well as the new mandatory national waste collection targets, CCIFER organized an event dedicated to the legislative framework and good practices in this field in Romania.

The agenda offered participants the opportunity to understand the national legislative context - through the contribution of EY ROMANIA, as well as concrete examples of good practices in waste collection and recycling. AUTOECO, Cora Romania and Ateliere Fără Frontiere presented functional approaches from the perspective of the fields they represent.

The ECOTIC organization, represented by Mr. Valentin Negoiță, President, presented the example of the Iași Municipal Collection Center (CMCI), the first universal waste collection center in Romania, co-financed by Innovation Norway and ECOTIC, which was inaugurated on March 10, 2016, as well as another project success, ECOTIC Caravan.

The CCIFER event was a good opportunity to exchange experience and perspective on the issue of selective collection and recycling in Romania.
