Recyclability for two categories of fractions resulted from the treatment of electronic equipment, namely the glass from cathode ray tubes and the polyurethanic foam is a research subject for the specialists team from the Technical University of Cluj- Napoca. These studies are based on the need to identify concrete solutions to these categories of waste in order to reduce the volume of waste that is stored and not eliminate. Thus, there were identified for each category of fractions that was a subject of this study various possibilities for recycling by using this waste as aggregate in the composite materials based on cement or plaster:
- Composite materials containing CRT glass can be used in particular to manufacture decorative construction, paving, flooring.
- Composite materials containing polyurethanic foam can be used for the manufacture of prefabricated elements that have an insulating role in constructions.

The results of the research have been selected to participate in the sixth edition of the International Exhibition of Creation and Innovation “EUROINVENT”, that will take place in Iasi, May, 22-24, 2014. The complete catalog of project present at this event can be found here: http://www.eudirect.ro/euroinvent/cat/e2014.pdf .
ECOTIC promotes research activities and the development of innovative solutions for waste of electrical and electronic equipment recycling, so the Romanian WEEE recycling industry to benefit from the applicable solution in order to increase the economic efficiency of these activities and also the quality indicators of the recycling services .
