Between June 24 to 30, Drobeta Turnu Severin residents participated in the project of selective collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment, developed by ECOTIC with Brantner Environmental Services. The project has the support of the City Hall of Drobeta Turnu Severin.
The project “Let’s learn how to properly recycle used equipment” wants to be a step forward in the direction of awareness of the users of electrical and electronic equipment, and their responsibilities of recycling.
Campaign organizers, thereby contributing to the formation of new pro-active attitudes, in protecting the environment and the efficient use of resources, the desire for selective collection gesture becomes a habit.
The collection campaign was developed from June 24 to 30 and addressed to Drobeta Turnu Severin city residents, recalling the solutions they have to discard used electrical equipment.
Electrical and electronic equipment could of been brought to the collection points, especially designated for these types of waste, located on Constructorilor Street, No 4 and in the parking lots of County Hospital, Municipal Stadium and Park Cildro. These points are managed by Brantner Environmental Services SA.The results of this campaign was the collection of 3 tons of waste of electrical and electronic equipment and 5 kg of batteries waste.
If the equipment is bulky and heavy, the residents could call at the phone numbers 0737-77.03.22 or 0252-33.33.63 and a team from Brantner Environmental Services picked up the waste equipment free of charge.
The organizers recall to the population that they have the obligation to protect the environment by handing over waste equipment at the stores from where they purchased equivalent new electrical equipment.
Campaign organizers, along side the residents of Drobeta Turnu Severin want to send a message of support and involvement, regarding the importance of collecting and recycling waste electrical and electronic equipment. A better selective collection and recycling means for Romania, the proper performance of the obligations undertaken in the EU. But above all, it means environmental responsibility, an important step towards a better quality of life for the citizens of Drobeta Turnu Severin. This is the campaign goal: creating habits.
Because of the importance of the environmental message that the campaign “Let’s learn how to properly recycle used equipment” targets, ECOTIC has proposed through a market study to find out the interest of the residents of this city regarding recycling electrical and electronic equipment. The citizens who will answer the questionnaire available at the campaign tent, located in the promenade Str. Crisan, were awarded with symbolic prizes.
