On Thursday, June 2, 2016, the final conference of the ECOTIC Caravan project took place.
Launched in November 2014, the ECOTIC Caravan project is one of the largest awareness projects in the field of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), co-financed by the Life + program of the European Union. The official closing event took place on June 2, 2016, at the Verona Garden - Cărturești.
The event marked the end of the stage and a new beginning. "The caravan is moving on!" was the message sent by the ECOTIC Organization, because the very good results obtained within the project and the continuous requests coming from the country for visits of the ECOTIC Caravan entitle the itinerant exhibition of electrical and electronic equipment to go further.
During the event, the outlined results of the project were concretely presented. Here are, in short, the most important figures:
- 150 visitors
- 85 participating students
- Over 7 WEEE collected
- 206 schools visited
During the event, a recycling workshop was organized, attended by 30 students of the Nicolae Labiș School in Bucharest. Along with Ecoterrian, the children showed how to creatively transform some waste electrical and electronic equipment. Mice, kings, and even electric Dumbo delighted the participants in the event, in a unique exhibition offered by the little activists.
