Following the success of the first edition of the "ECO Days in Your School!" Campaign, ECOTIC kicks off the second edition, on September 1, 2015. Part of the ECOTIC Caravan Project, this awareness and waste collection campaign for electrical equipment and electronic (WEEE), aims to reach as many schools and cities in Romania, to convey the eco-educational message of environmental protection, as well as the need to collect and recycle this waste.
Launched in November 2014, the first edition of the "ECO Days in Your School!" Campaign ended with the school year, in June 2015. Over 50.000 students from 104 schools in Romania were involved, being collected over 20 tons of WEEE and over 2 tons of DBA. Also, during this campaign - contest, students organized together with parents and teachers, carrying out over 300 other eco-activities, under the slogan "NATURE NEEDS US!". With the help of their teachers and parents, the children learned about proper collection and recycling, about the environment and its protection, collected waste, worked on greening their school and neighborhood, planted trees and flowers, thus entering a national competition with awards according to their effort. The ECOTIC caravan is a project co-financed by the LIFE instrument of the European Union.
Starting with September 1, 2015, ECOTIC will start the second edition of the "ECO Days in Your School!" Campaign. The ECOTIC team invites schools from the cities: Bucharest, Targoviste, Sibiu, Alba Iulia, Cluj, Targu Mures, Resita, Deva, Hunedoara, Turda, Targu Jiu, Drobeta Turnu Severin, Timisoara, Arad, Oradea, Sighisoara, Craiova, to register in a new eco-education and WEEE and DBA collection contest. The objectives we set ourselves are, again, bold, but the results recorded in the first edition entitle us to hope for a new success. Therefore, we set out to reach 96 schools, in which to carry out ecological activities, seminars with coordinating teachers, and obviously, the unmissable visit of the ECOTIC Caravan in the participating educational institutions.
We enthusiastically invite, between September 1 and October 20, 2015, as many schools from the cities mentioned above, to contact us to enroll in our project. It will take place between September 14, 2015 - June 15, 2016, throughout the school year and will aim to involve as many students, teachers and parents in a new fun contest, exciting and with great prizes! We invite you to join us in a new adventure for a clean environment!
