Clean Cities, the ECOTIC itinerant campaign, dedicated to the collection of used electrical and electronic equipment from the urban environment, makes a new stop, this time, in the city of Constanța.

Between 20 and 25 August 2018, ECOTIC in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Concept Solution Services, Sustainable Development Group and Polaris M Holding, with the support of Constanța City Hall, encourages citizens to properly hand over waste for electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) ), following that for the delivery of a waste over 35 kg he will receive a gift voucher worth 20 lei, and for the wastes between 20 and 35 kg a gift voucher of 10 lei. People who hand over waste between 5 and 19 kg will be automatically entered in the raffle, and can win Dedeman gift cards.

The collection centers are located as follows:

  • Tomis Nord, Strada Cismelei (10: 00-20: 00)
  • Km5, Blv. Mangalia (10: 00-20: 00)
  • North Cliff, Adivin Complex (10: 00-20: 00)
  • CET, Albatrosului Street, Dobre and Fii Square (10: 00-20: 00)
  • Km 4-5, Liliacului Street, Post 7 (10: 00-20: 00)

At the same time, the people of Constanta can benefit from a free service. Thus, the collection of waste of large and bulky electrical and electronic equipment will be done from home, between August 20 and 25, based on a prior appointment at the phone number 0747 412 240.

"We are trying to bring the concept of separate collection of recyclable waste to people's doors. Through these campaigns we encourage the inhabitants of these areas to selectively hand over the waste that can be recycled, especially waste electrical and electronic equipment, and, implicitly, to protect the environment ”says Adelina Dumitrașcu, South ECOTIC Area Coordinator.

Romania, as an EU member state, has the obligation to reach a target of 45% collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) by 2020. In this regard, ECOTIC continues its efforts to raise awareness among the population.

"Clean Cities" is the ECOTIC campaign that pursues this goal in the urban environment. Together with local public and environmental authorities, ECOTIC has informed and continues to inform residents of dozens of cities across the country about the need to collect WEEE, providing specialized collection points.

In 2017 and in the first part of 2018, ECOTIC carried out 31 campaigns that informed approximately 320.000 people.
