The winners of the 5th edition of “For a clean environment!” - awards ceremony

 The 5th edition of “For a clean environment!” awards ceremony, organized by ECOTIC, ALUCRO, Association for Consumer Protection and Promotion of Programs and Strategies of Romania and Hotnews, has awarded its winners on December 12, in the presence of environmental authorities, producers of electrical and electronic equipment recycling companies and environmental NGOs .

"For a clean environment!" awards ceremony is a traditional event that aims to promote initiatives and programs dedicated to environmental protection. The organizers award every year the best projects and examples of good practices to improve environmental conditions in local communities and social empowerment programs developed by companies, public institutions and non-governmental organizations.

This year's edition brought together a record number of projects (47) for environmental protection and resource reuse submitted by companies, educational institutions and non-governmental organizations.

"We are pleased of the active involvement this year in identifying and promoting ambitious projects that demonstrate a growing concern for environmental protection and efficient use of resources in Romania" said Valentin Negoita, ECOTIC President.

First prize was won by Zibo Help Association for the project "Green School for Romania".

Second prize was awarded to the Faculty of Engineering of the University Constantin Brancusi, Targu Jiu for the project "New building materials obtained from recycling industrial waste - ECOWASTE".

Third prize was won by Save the Danube and Delta for the project "Natural Park Vacaresti".

Special Diplomas were awarded to the following projects: "Let's Plant for the Planet" – MaiMultVerde Association, "Protect the environment! Get involved"- ProCreditBank, "Learn to recycle" - Mega Image, "Recicleta" - ViitorPlus - Association for Sustainable Development".
In the awards ceremony ECOTIC awarded special prizes for contributions to the public awareness and selective waste collection to the following companies: Samsung, Altex and real, - Hypermarket Romania. The awards given by ALUCRO were: award for Education for School No. 2 Diaconu Coresi Brasov, award for companies went to Celestica Romania and the award for collector went to EcoCycle.
